Hypnotherapy for Chronic Conditions
Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Living with a chronic condition can affect much more than your physical health. Ongoing pain, fatigue, disrupted sleep, stress and the uncertainty of living with symptoms can also affect your emotional wellbeing and your ability to enjoy everyday life.
Hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation and therapeutic techniques to help you develop greater calm, relaxation and a different relationship with pain, stress and other difficult symptoms.
Conditions I Work With
I offer hypnotherapy support for people living with a range of chronic conditions, including:
- Fibromyalgia
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)
Hypnotherapy is not a replacement for medical diagnosis or treatment. Instead, it can be used alongside the care you receive from your GP, consultant or other healthcare professionals, with the aim of supporting your overall wellbeing and helping you develop useful coping strategies.
How Hypnotherapy May Help
Everyone's experience of a chronic condition is different, so the focus of your sessions will be tailored to you and what you would like to achieve.
Depending on your circumstances, sessions may focus on areas such as relaxation, managing stress, coping with pain or fatigue, improving sleep, and developing techniques that can help you feel more able to manage difficult days.
You will also be given techniques and, where appropriate, recordings to use between sessions. These can help you continue practising relaxation and the strategies explored during your appointments.
The number of sessions needed varies from person to person. We can review how you are progressing as we work together and decide what feels appropriate for you.
Some people also choose to return for occasional relaxation and wellbeing sessions, particularly during periods when they feel they would benefit from additional support.
If you would like to explore whether hypnotherapy could complement the support you already receive for a chronic condition, please get in touch for a free telephone consultation.
