What Happens in a First Reiki Appointment?

Some people receive reiki to address a specific disorder or problem and others because reiki treatments enable people to achieve total relaxation and experience a sense of total wellbeing. Ultimately, you will feel rebalanced and energised.

During your first appointment, we will discuss any relevant medical history and your reasons for attending the appointment. Reiki works in harmony with other medical practices and should not be used instead of prescribed medication.

Reiki treatments are given fully clothed which ensures that the recipient’s privacy, modesty and dignity are respected at all times. The recipient is normally in the lying position but could be sitting or even standing if it is more comfortable.

During treatment, the practitioner will place their hands on or over the main chakras and intuitively works around the body to heal specific areas of need. This may not be an obvious area of pain, for example a practitioner may work on the throat, and although the throat may not be sore, it could be the client is struggling to ‘find their voice’ to say something to a friend. The feet may be worked on to help someone physically move forward in life.

The recipient often feels a sense of deep relaxation which may be accompanied by dreams, floating sensations, warmth, tingling or a general sense of security and peace.

Once experienced, many people encompass reiki treatments into their weekly or monthly wellbeing or beauty routine, as ensuring we are balanced and well internally gives us a better chance of glowing externally.

Appointments can be booked individually or in packages of three, six or through annual special offers.
